OLD FRIENDS...GOOD TIMES!

I get a random phone call from my old friend Clayton asking if i could come up one day to photograph his son Zack and catch up since it has been a super long time since i have seen his family. So of course my response was yes...more so because clayton is never short handed with beer. So i spent the day at their house shooting Zach and his mother Jamie (when she was not looking). Here are two images i shot as i was leaving...as i walked out the door i turned around and Jaime was holding Zach in the window and i shouted at her not to move and grabbed my camera...These are my favorite shots from the day...It is always amazing getting to catch up with old friends...thanks for the phone call!

Smutock's Ender Ender...FIRST RUN NO WARM UP BITCH!

Here is the last shot i took of Dave Smutock to end the East Coast season. Dave called me Thursday night to see if i was available to shoot last minute while he was filming his part in Taylor Sage's upcoming film Antonym, so(without hesitation) the next morning i bolted up to NH to meet Dave and Taylor, then we headed to Burlington,VT. The trip was definitely worth it as the foliage in the North East Kingdom was epic to say the least. Yellow and orange canopies covering the landscape made for some incredible shots...more shots coming soon!

SUPER FRONT FLIP!

CAM MCCUAL becomes the first mountain bike rider to stick a front flip superman while filming for NWD 10. It was an early morning session at Highland Mountain Bike Park and cam had been eyeing up a jump at the end of a three pack to attempt the super front flip. He sessioned the jump until he had his speed dialed and so the light was just perfect for the film crew...after a few huge front flips....Cam yells dropping and throws the super front flip and lands it super smooth...

THE PURPLE PROJECT

A good friend of mine, Haize Rava, had asked me to shoot her new line to launch her new website and wanted it shot on a farm...So we went to a horse farm that one of my friends owns and started blasting away with all the farm animals. It ended up being a super fun day even though i was running on 3 hours of sleep and because one of the horses was being super stubborn while we were trying to shoot...also one of the little bastards tried eating the pocket wizard right off my camera while i was lying on the ground shooting. For more about Haize Rava check her new website out at www.supadesigner.com

A PERFECT FAREWELL

Lately i have been thinking about snowboarding non stop, so here a brief story about a rail session from last season. A friend came to me with an idea to load a truck up with as much snow as we could fit into a truck, head to the Jersey shore and try to get shots of someone hitting rails onto the beach before we got kicked of the boardwalk, arrested, or even worse, the snow melted. I was super stoked with the idea as it was the end of a shitty bitter cold east coast winter and there was nothing more than i wanted to do at the time besides sit on a beach in 60 degree weather. After getting kicked out of a few spots we finally found one more rail we could hit that was in a "not so shady spot." We quickly built a launch for PJ and he killed it for an hour before the snow melted...Pj then retired his board to the ocean and then walked to his car where there was a wetsuit and a surf board waiting. PERFECT way to say farewell to winter!

NWD: DAY 1

Day 1 of shooting for NWD is in the bag!  The day consisted of heavy reshaping of a monster jump and hucking back and front flips off a rope swing.  Here is a shot of the crew standing on shore after swimming about 300ft back from the island where the roap swing was.

RED BULL RAMPAGE 2008

Since i just created my blog i am doing a little archiving and decided to post a blog about the Red Bull Rampage because it was my favorite event i have shot to this day.  I was always a huge fan of this event after seeing video footage of it, but after being there in person i can say that although the footage was sick, it almost did not do the riders any justice.  The cliffs were huge, the drops long and fast, and the jumps were epic! There was definitely no room for error.

I don't usually post images of crashes out of respect for the athlete but i felt this image showed the extent of slight miscalculations during the Rampage.
